Monica Houston lives in Seattle, Washington, on a sailboat named the "Infinite Sloop." Monica’s official title at Hackster.io is "The Executer." They run Hackster Live, a series of local, worldwide workshops to teach electronics & hardware creation.
A maker and tinkerer, Monica founded and runs the Seattle Arduino Meetup. They organized the first Startup Weekend focusing on hardware in 2013. Since then, they have organized over a dozen hardware hackathons, organizing Hackster.io's Hardware Weekend series in 2015 and driving a Delorean around the country.
Monica served on the board of the Seattle makerspace Jigsaw Renaissance. They were a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers from 2013-2018.
A fanatical runner, Monica has completed one marathon and nine ultra marathons. Monica also enjoys sailing and has raced in Nationals with the Thistle class.
Monica occasionally draws bizarre comics.
